TC 171/172: Peris + Toral—Architecture 2014–2025 is a double issue of the Valencian journal TC Cuadernos devoted to the Barcelona practice of Marta Peris and José Toral, surveying more than a decade of social and collective housing.

Peris + Toral has built much of its reputation through public competitions, and this monograph gathers the work that came out of them—social housing blocks and civic spaces across Barcelona, Mallorca, Ibiza and Melilla. The issue makes the case that building regulations can serve as a design instrument rather than a constraint, and that construction technique can lead form towards architecture that is open, adaptable and made to last.
Each project is documented through plans, axonometric drawings and construction details, some redrawn especially for this edition, so the structural, spatial and material logic of the buildings can be followed closely. About the Author
Marta Peris and José Toral founded Peris + Toral Arquitectes in Barcelona in 2005. The practice pairs research into new ways of living with new ways of building, with a particular focus on social housing and the climate emergency. Its recognition includes the RIBA International Award 2024, the DETAIL Prize 2024, the Erich Mendelsohn Preis 2023 and the CSCAE Spanish Architecture Award 2022, and it has been a finalist for the Mies van der Rohe Award several times.
