This modest inner urban infill exercise currently serves as a house but is planned to anticipate other forms of future use as the neighbourhood continues to redevelop. Irrespective, the diagram encloses a large proportion of the site as a ‘public’ room; a realm containing both inside and outside space. There is a generous window between the public zone of the house and the street. In this way, occupation and experiences contribute to the streetscape rather than endorse the typical local pattern of distancing or muting to achieve separation between domestic public and general public.
