Among Buildings in the running for Cornish Family Prize

Among Buildings joins 3+2 Durbach Block Jaggers on the shortlist for the Cornish Family Prize for Art and Design Publishing. Five finalists and a winner will be announced at the NGV Melbourne Art and Book Fair in March.

Last year Among Buildings was named as a finalist in the AGDA Design awards, for it's excellence in publication design.

The book is a unique proposition: the collaborative efforts of photographer Tom Ross, architect and poet Michael Roper, and graphic designer Stuart Geddes are combined in a collection of loose leaf pages that invite the reader to choose how they read the work. Through poetry and photography, it explores Australian history, culture and personal experience through significant Melbourne architecture like Heide I and II, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and Seaford Lifesaving Club. The result is a slipcase filled with fragments that speak to each other across the separate pages.

We can't wait to hear what the judges have to say come March!
