3+2: Durbach Block Jaggers featured on Sky News

You may have been lucky enough to catch our very own Andrew Mackenzie on Sky News Realestate talking about 3+2: Durbach Block Jaggers, and the collaborative process between the editor, designer, architects, and photographers.

In discussing the development of the work from early conception through to the final object, Andrew explained how important it was for the project to be seen through the lenses of Andrew Cowen and Julia Charles,

"The idea for us, and certainly for the architects, working together, was that we didn't want to just do a conventional big-blue-skies typical kind of architectural photography, but actually to make it really quite bespoke and an interpretation of the projects rather than just a description."

As Andrew said, Cowen's photography had a particular atmospheric quality that appealed to architect Neil Durbach and works in to reveal the distinct shape of North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, Holman House and Tamarama House. While i2, Julia Charles explores two projects located in the intensely urban environment of central Sydney, responding to the particular buildings rather than the potential narrative of the site or urban environment.
